The scene is in the private monastic area of Buckfast Abbey in Devon.
There is a canal running alongside the monastery and every now and then there are bridges over the canal. This scene is from the bridge and pathway to the entrance of the monastery.
Feel the air as you walk under the trees and up the path; look on the right just past the bushes and you can glimpse branches of a large Lebanese Cedar actually brought from the Lebanon by a Father and planted here so many years ago.
This is a place to truly meditate in.
Buckfast Abbey is a wonderous place where the community of Benedictine Monks have caringly been stewards of the buildings and grounds for hundreds of years.
The full painting is 70cm x 50cm, I used acrylic medium on canvas, and painted on site and from a photograph.
